Then again, maybe it is. Early Thursday morning – very early – auditions for the eighth season of “American Idol” kicked off at the Cow Palace. According to an “Idols” spokeswoman, about 7,000 aspiring Kelly Clarksons and Chris Daughtrys (you assume no one wants to be Taylor Hicks) converged on the oppressive Daly City venue for what appeared a lot a like, well, a cattle call.
